An ALDE MEP is the permanent ('standing') rapporteur on Humanitarian Aid in the European Parliament. Through this high profile role ALDE fights to ensure that Development and Humanitarian aid issues remain high on the EP agenda. ALDE maintains that the EU should prioritise underfinanced, neglected or forgotten humanitarian crises, as indicated in the European Consensus on Humanitarian Aid, as they often suffer from a lack of funding, and are ignored by the donors and the media alike.
